What followed was more than just a structural collapse: raw sewage began flooding into streets, homes, and neighbourhoods, turning everyday life into a public health emergency. Contaminated water seeped into the heart of communities, creating a breeding ground for disease and harmful insects.

A Public Health Emergency

The contaminated floodwaters have caused a surge in pollution-related illnesses. Children and elderly residents, whose immune systems are more vulnerable, are suffering the most with infections, rashes, and respiratory issues spreading quickly.

Environmental Collapse

The streets of Jabalia al-Nazla, a district home to over 30,000 people, became unrecognizable. With the main road blocked by sewage overflow, access to basic services became nearly impossible. Daily life has been paralyzed.

Worsening Living Conditions

With the water system compromised, swarms of insects have taken over, worsening the already critical health situation. These are not just unpleasant conditions; but they are unsafe and life-threatening ones.

Project Goals

  • Sewage Removal: Deploying equipment to suction contaminated water from streets and homes, stopping the spread of waste and pollutants.
  • Street and Neighbourhood Cleaning: Restoring hygiene and safety as much as we can by thoroughly cleaning public spaces to protect residents' health.
  • Long-Term Pollution Prevention: Implementing measures to prevent similar disasters in the future and build a safer, healthier environment for everyone
